This past weekend Shawn and I went for a waterfall hike called Waimea Falls and had a great time while we were there! We got to splash around in the pool of a waterfall which was so refreshing and exhilarating, and such a gorgeous walk on top of that. When we got back to the hike’s entrance, we ran into a family of peacocks! I was SO excited because I knew I was doing a peacock theme this week so I grabbed my camera and snapped some pics of the mom and four kids…daddy was in the parking lot, searching for food I guess. They are so cute!!
So let’s get real here. My life this summer should be written into a book, picked up by a big time Hollywood producer, and made into a movie. Everything I do here is so unreal and I can only compare it to the lives we watch unfold in the movie theaters. This could be because I’m a country girl who went onto university in the valley and therefore have never had even the opportunity to experience things like…public transportation, sharing my yard with around 200 people living under the same roof, or being able to walk places like the grocery store…via a sidewalk. So not only am I in Hawaii, I’m in a completely different world here. Some dates I’ve had here that are Hollywood Flick worthy:
RIDE A ZIPLINE
HIKE A MOUNTAIN
ATTEND A CONCERT
ENJOY A LUAU
PLAY AT A CARNIVAL
EAT AT A SHRIMP TRUCK
LAY OUT ON A PRIVATE BEACH
I am a VERY lucky girl. That book is bound to hit stores near you soon. 😉
This past weekend Shawn and I went to the 50th state fair and had SUCH a great time! We rode some wild rides, ate some completely necessary carnival food (including corn dogs, spiral fries, roasted corn on the cob, and funnel cake…hello yellow.), and played a ridiculous number of carnival games! Overall, it was an awesome night. By far the best night I’ve had in Hawaii yet! We even got to watch some ostrich and camel races…I couldn’t make that up…Anyways, I hope you enjoy the video!
